In our early years as an organization, we ran a book drive at Haddonfield Middle School. Our efforts collected over 5,000 books which were donated to CHOP, Cooper Hospital, and the Ronald McDonald House of South Jersey. The book drive also brought us the first major support we received from the community. Passariello’s was a new pizza shop in town and by helping them, they helped us. We promised pizzas to the homeroom at HMS who brought in the greatest number of books. They donated their pizzas to us to give to the winners, and they were able to get their food into the mouths of some of Haddonfield’s biggest pizza buyers. All in all, the book drive was a win-win for everyone involved.
